I've since realized that the Type R builds boost very differently than my previous '17 SI. The SI was very peaky, with boost coming in very noticeably around 3300 RPM, but the power would start to fall off around 5000 RPM, By contrast, the Type R doesn't really seem to build any boost under partial throttle below 4K RPM. HPD first announced the availability of the Type R crate engine back in 2017 and even displayed an example in the Honda booth during that year's SEMA show week.The difference now is the addition qb54Uj.
